Shot 10: point of view shot suggests that the protaganist is hiding from the law on the run...

Shot 9: Point of view shot form the protaganist

Shot 8:

Shot 4: This is the first shot the audience are shown of the protaganist character however his identity is still being kept a secret from the audience. A medium shot purposely blurred and taken of the back of the character keeps the element of mystery about this person. The audience can see the location to the right hand side of the shot confirming that the protaganist lives there or has knowledge of the area as his body language seems comfortable.

Shot 3: This medium close up shot continues to reveal subtle details about the location. It works well with the first two opening shots as the audience are starting to piece the shots together slowly. We are given an insight into where the character lives and perhaps the type of background this person maybe from.

Shot 2: This shot continues as with the opening shot of still settting the scene. I purposely chose to prolong this process as I wanted a slow reveal effect for the type of establishment whilst also creating an era of mystery. At this point the audience are beginning to wonder whether a protaganist will be introduced soon an what is the significance of this location.

Storyboard

Shot 1: This first shot is a medium close up of a tower block ultimately setting the scene for what type of genre my real media text is likely to be. Taken from an unusual angle I purposely chose to break the codes and conventions of what an audience would expect to see as an opening shot by using this angle. The audience can therefore make up their own minds about this shot and thus making it appear more interesting. An opening shot would ultimately begin with an urban city against a skyline, with dim lighting for the particular type of genre I have chosen of a gritty urban drama. However in this shot this is not the case as it is clearly daylight and the full picture of the area has not been revealed.
